Planning application submitted for Lord Street site

A planning application for the £25m redevelopment of the former Lord Street bus station site has been submitted.

Kane Limited wants to built a facility which will include an 80-bed Travelodge hotel, seven-screen Omniplex cinema, restaurants, residential units and a six-storey car park.

The developer has also confirmed Travelodge has agreed a 25-year lease for the site, while Omniplex has signed up for 20 years.

The company agreed a deal to purchase the site from the Government in December last year.
