Douglas Borough Council wants to make the large poppy on Douglas Head a permanent feature.
The local authority created a large flower bed in the shape of a poppy to pay tribute to those who've died in conflicts.
However, the Council now wants it to become a permanent memorial to mark the centenary of the Armistace.
The board has applied for planning permission, revealing plans to cover the area with red and black rubber surfacing similar to the surface used under children's play equipment.
