Retiring lifeboat to visit all Island stations

Fri, 10 Aug 2018

Douglas RNLI's Sir William Hillary lifeboat will visit each of the Island's lifeboat stations before it leaves the Island for the final time.

The Tyne-class all-weather lifeboat is being replaced after almost 30 years in service.

The lifeboat will leave Douglas at 8am on Sunday, visiting Ramsey, Peel, Port Erin and Port St Mary, before returning to Douglas in time for the Tower of Refuge walk in the evening.

Sir William Hillary will leave the Island next Friday, travelling to the RNLI Deport in Conwy in North Wales.
