Christian replaces Cavendish at European Championships

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish won't be able to take part in the men's road race at this year's European Championships.

The former road race world champion had been due to represent Great Britain in the Glasgow event this weekend.

However, British Cycling announced that Cavendish has withdrawn following advice from his medical team after a period of illness and injury.

Cavendish's place will be taken by another Manx rider - Mark Christian.
