Drone owners reminded of TT course no-fly zone

Tue, 07 Aug 2018

The Isle of Man Civil Aviation Authority is reminding local residents and visitors of the no fly zone for drones during the Festival of Motorcycling.

The airspace above the TT course has to be kept clear for potential use by emergency helicopters from August 18th until September 1st.

Drones can also be distracting to riders and could result in practice or a race being halted.

Marshals will report any drone use to race control and the police - those who don't obey the rules could face prosecution and a fine of up to £2,500.

A no fly zone will also be in place around Jurby Airfield on August 26th for the Festival of Jurby, which will include a helicopter display.
