800 local businesses will be asked to take part in a Government survey about pay and patterns of employment.
The Cabinet Office's Economic Affairs unit is conducting its annual earnings survey.
A random sample of 2,500 workers will be used, with the questionnaire sent to the last known employer of each person.
The information is kept strictly confidential, and will be used by the Government to inform policy development.
The responses will give the Government a better idea of the average hourly rate of pay and whether or not it's increasing.
