Fire crews were called out in the south of the Island after the hot exhaust from a coach set fire to a patch of grass.
Firefighters from Castletown and Port Erin were asked to attend the Sound Cafe in Cregneash shortly before 1.30pm yesterday to tackle the 20m x 5m area of grass.
The restaurant was evacuated and staff used handheld fire extinguishers to control the flames before the fire service arrived as the fire was threatening to spread towards a butane gas tank and oil store.
The driver of the coach was also alerted to the fire so he could move the vehicle away from the blaze.
The team spent around an hour at the scene ensuring the fire was out and dampening down the area.
