Almost £5,000 worth of food was donated to the Isle of Man Foodbank following a collection at a supermarket.

The charity was at Tesco on Friday and Saturday last week seeking additional donations after appealing for help building up stocks ahead of the school holidays.

Customers donated 156 trays of food over the two-day period with a value of £4.735.

The Foodbank experiences a rise in demand when the schools close for summer.
