The Department of Infrastructure says it's established a set of conditions to allow Rally Isle of Man to go ahead.
The DoI met with the events organisers last week following concerns over safety ahead of this year's event, which takes place in September.
The Department confirmed the meeting was productive and a series of conditions have now been established, with the organisers of the rally asked to demonstrate commitment to the conditions.
The DoI insists it's fully supportive of motorsport events being staged on Manx roads, but stresses safety must be a priority.
