Police are appealing to parents to prevent their children from knocking on doors and running away.
The Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team says its received reports recently of children knocking and running.
Officers warn this activity can be very distressing for some residents, even if there is no malice intended by the children.
Police are urging parents and carers to speak to their children about the importance of being neighbourly, particularly with the school holidays approaching.
