Tynwald has approved a plan to reduce the Government's use of single use plastics.
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot presented the plan at this month's sitting, receiving unanimous support from members.
The plan seeks to end unnecessary use of plastics across Government by January 2021, including making a number of changes immediately, such as cutting the use of plastics at Government event and banning balloon releases.
Single use straws, plastic cutlery and plates and cotton buds will also be phased out as part of the strategy.
