Foodbank stocks low ahead of school holidays

Wed, 18 Jul 2018

The Isle of Man Foodbank is appealing for extra donations as it prepares for the school holidays.

The charity reported an increased demand during the break last year due to the lack of school lunches over the holidays and the additional cost of childcare.

The foodbank's stores are already low, and the organisation is appealing for tinned goods such as meat, vegetables and spaghetti, as well as jars of pasta sauce, squash and toilet rolls.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle recently pledged in Tynwald to ensure the foodbank receives help from the Government over the holidays.

Details of the foodbank's collection points can be found on the organisation's website.
