Manx Utilities are urging dog owners not to let their pets run loose around reservoirs during dry spells.
The organisation says it's been made aware of some owners letting their dogs off their leads to run in the dried out area at the Island's reservoirs during the recent heatwave.
However, the board warns this can result in the dogs fouling in the area that will eventually become submerged with drinking water.
Even when the water level is low, dried out areas are still part of the reservoir itself, and Manx Utilities are urging those in the area to keep to the paths and use a lead when walking their dog.
