Coastguard rescues injured walker

A coastguard team was called out in the south of the Island to rescue an injured walker.

The female had sustained an ankle injury while walking on the coastal footpath from Cregneash to the Sound Cafe at around 5pm on Saturday.

Port Erin Coastguard was asked to help due to the difficult terrain and lack of road access in the area.

Crews carried the injured walker in a basket stretcher to a waiting ambulance where she could receive further attention for the injury.
