40 firefighters spent seven hours tackling a grass fire caused by a disposable barbecue.
Crews were called out at around 6pm on Saturday evening to deal with a large area of headland on fire in the Dalby area.
The fire spread, affecting an area of 800m by 400m on steep cliffs, leaving firefighters with difficult access and poor water supplies.
The cause of the fire was identified as a disposable barbecue left next to the old shed on the foreshore.
Crews tackled the flames into the early hours of Sunday morning and remained on the scene overnight to watch for hot spots reigniting.
