Repairs carried out on Mountain Road

Emergency repairs have been carried out to the Mountain Road.

The Department of Infrastructure used machinery from off-Island currently being used for the surface redressing programme to complete the repairs last night.

The recent long spell of hot weather has been blamed for the damage, causing excess bitumen to bleed through the existing dressing at Brandywell.

It had been feared the surface could have become very slippery if not repaired before significant rainfall.
