Peel Coastguard was called out after a boat got stuck on the rocks north of Peel.
Belfast Coastguard asked a team to help after picking up a mayday call in the Peel area shortly before 7.30am yesterday.
The small vessel had been on the rocks at Cains strand because of engine failure, but the skipper managed to get an auxiliary engine started to get away from the rocks.
He was able to bring the vessel back to Peel Harbour where the coastguard was waiting to assist, and within half an hour they'd managed to get the engine restarted.
