Ramsey lifeboat was called out to help two people on board a potting vessel that had suffered engine failure.
The 7m boat broke down around half a mile south east of Port Mooar just after 7.30pm yesterday.
The vessel had no anchor or other means of propulsion, forcing the two people on board to contact the coastguard for help.
The lifeboat was able to establish a tow and bring the vessel back to Ramsey Harbour, mooring it and the steps in the harbour entrance due to the falling tide.
Both people on board the vessel were unhurt, and the lifeboat was back in the station by 9.30pm.
