Police are urging Manx residents not to burn garden waste during the current weather conditions.
Officers from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team spoke to a homeowner this week after they lit a fire to dispose of waste in their garden.
While no restrictions are formally in place, officers are advising against lighting any kind of fire during the hot and dry period as embers can ignite surrounding fields and gardens.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, the fire service and the National Farmers Union have all issued fire safety advice as a result of the current heatwave.
