The organisers of the Manx Grand Prix say they are duty bound to act responsibly after telling a paralysed woman she wouldn't be able to complete a lap of the TT Mountain Course.
Claire Lomas, who has raised money for research into spinal injuries since a horse riding accident left her paralysed in 2007, had planned to complete a lap during this year's event.
Despite training for the challenge and visiting the Island, Ms Lomas revealed earlier this week that the Manx Motor Cycle Club told her it wouldn't be able to accommodate her lap.
The club believes this year is too soon for her based on her development sessions with rider coaches, so won't permit the lap to go ahead in 2018 as it has concerns about her level of experience.
However, organisers plan to remain in contact with Ms Lomas as she builds experience in riding a motorcycle.
