The Island's fire service is reiterating its message about correctly disposing of barbecues.
Firefighters and the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture issued an appeal ahead of the weekend asking members of the public to be careful when using disposable barbecues and hot charcoal as the dry conditions mean there is an increased risk of wildfire.
Despite the warning, the fire service came across two used disposable grills abandoned on dry grass over the weekend.
The Fire and Rescue Services says this is unbelievably responsible, and is urging local residents to heed DEFA's appeal for no barbecues, camp stoves or campfires in upland and forest areas while the hot and dry spell continues.
