Police warn against leaving animals in hot cars
Tue, 26 Jun 2018
The Island's police are warning pet owners not to leave their animals in hot cars.
With a heatwave forecast this week, the Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team has taken to social media to remind motorists of the risks of leaving a pet in a car.
Officers warn it only takes a couple of minutes for the heat inside a vehicle to become fatal.
Anyone who sees a dog in distress in a car is urged to call the emergency services.
