Fire crews were called out in Ramsey following a blaze at a property near Parliament Street.
Firefighters tackled the flames yesterday afternoon, with a number of roads around the incident having to be closed.
Neighbouring properties had to be evacuated as the fire involved a gas main, which had to be dug up and isolated by Manx Gas.
Once the area was made safe, crews were able to extinguish the fire and cut away fire damage before scaling down the operation and reopening the road.
