Body-worn cameras could be used at the Isle of Man Prison in the future.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle confirmed in this month's Tynwald sitting that the prison has registered an interest with the Government Technology Services in using the equipment.
The Isle of Man Constabulary recently conducted a trial of the technology, and the prison is awaiting the outside of the trials.
In response to a question from Garff MHK Daphne Caine, Mr Quayle said the cameras have been an excellent aid to de-escalation and evidence gathering in prisons in the UK.
He also revealed that Manx Sport and Recreation is considering whether such cameras could be used by staff that work alone in the outdoor facilities at the NSC, while a Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture contractor has also used the cameras.
