Police are urging motorists to drive with care on the Island's roads today after Storm Hector hit overnight.

Crews worked overnight to clear broken branches and other debris, but officers warn drivers could encounter debris unexpectedly.

A yellow weather warning remained in place first thing as winds reaching up to 65mph continued to affect the Island.

Manannan sailings have been cancelled because of the weather conditions, while a large shop sign has been brought down on North Quay in Douglas and the Northern Civic Amenity Site has been forced to close.
