The Government will soon seek feedback from the public on plans to introduce new domestic abuse legislation.
Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey revealed that his Department will launch a consultation on a series of planned changes in the near future.
The proposals will include new measures to prevent repeat offending, support female and male victims and provide help for abusers to change.
The Prison and Probation Service is currently developing a domestic abuse programme for offenders, while Social Care is working on a programme for fathers in domestically abusive relationships.
Douglas Central MHK Ann Corlett sought the update at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
