The Infrastructure Minister says his Department is working to improve access to homes for young people.
Ray Harmer admits housing affordability is an important issue for the Department of Infrastructure, and that work is underway on alternative housing products.
The DoI already runs two shared equity schemes to help Manx residents purchase their first homes, with 132 first time buyers assisted since the schemes were brought in.
The Minister insists the shared equity schemes don't differentiate between younger and older applicants, with those aged 20 to 47 having been approved for assistance so far.
