The Steam Packet Company is warning some of its sailings could be cancelled today and tomorrow due to the weather conditions.
This afternoon's Manannan crossing to Liverpool has already been brought forward by an hour to 3pm to avoid the worst of the conditions.
However, the ferry operator is also warning tonight's Ben-my-Chree services between Douglas and Heysham could be cancelled.
A final decision on the 7.45pm crossing will be made by 5.30pm.
Tomorrow's 7.30am journey to Liverpool and the return crossing is also subject to disruption or cancellation, with a further update expected later this afternoon.
Gusts reaching gale force eight and severe gale force nine are forecast overnight.
