Coastguard rescues injured woman on coastal footpath

A woman had to airlifted to hospital after suffering a leg injury while walking in the south of the Island.

Port Erin Coastguard was called to a coastal footpath near the Calf Sound to help the woman.

The team managed to get the woman into a basket stretcher to move her to an area where she could be picked up by the air ambulance.

The Coastguard crews received help from a doctor and paramedics who were visiting the Island for TT and happened to be passing.
