Steam Packet purchase, domestic abuse to be discussed in House of Keys

The purchase of the Steam Packet Company, social security benefit caps and support for victims of domestic abuse will all be discussed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Douglas South MHK wants to know what alternatives were considered ahead of the Government's recent £124m takeover of the Island's ferry operator.

Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey will face questions about support mechanisms for those suffering domestic abuse, while Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan will be asked whether a cap is applied to social security benefits.

School buildings, NHS dentistry and work permits are also subjects listed on today's order paper.
