Over £6,000 donated to help Mercer recovery

Over £6,000 has been pledged to help a TT rider with his recovery from injuries sustained after colliding with a course car.

Steve Mercer remains on the critical care ward at Aintree Hospital in Liverpool following the incident on Wednesday of practice week.

Mercer's wife set up a Crowdfunding page to raise money so he'll be able to have everything he needs to aid his recovery and make him more comfortable.

The page initially aimed to raise £5,000, but has already passed the £6,000 mark just a day after being set up.

Mercer's injuries include a pelvis fracture, brain injury and a broken ankle.
