The wife of the TT rider injured during a collision with a course car has revealed his condition has deteriorated.
Steve Mercer was described as stable by TT organisers earlier this week following the incident at Ballacrye during practice week.
However, Caroline Mercer provided an update on her husband's Facebook page, revealing he had deteriorated over the last few days but is being well looked after by critical care teams in a Liverpool hospital.
Medics have been unable to remove his breathing tube and he has bruising and swelling to his brain stem, preventing information being passed from his brain to the rest of his body.
Mrs Mercer says it's a waiting game to see how he recovers when the swelling goes down.
