Mercer flown to Liverpool after TT practice crash

The wife of a TT rider injured during last night's practice session says he's been flown to Liverpool for further assessment.

Steve Mercer sustained serious injuries while travelling back to the Grandstand after a red flag incident.

Caroline Mercer provided an update on his Facebook page, confirming he's been flown to Liverpool to ascertain the full extent of his injuries.

Jackson Racing also released a statement, saying their thoughts are with Mercer and his family following the incident.

Riders Jamie Hamilton and Paul Owen have been among those sending well wishes to Mercer.
