A 15-year-old boy is being treated for serious injuries after falling over the cliff face at Douglas lighthouse.
The emergency services, coastguard and Douglas lifeboat were called out yesterday evening to help the boy, who had taken a significant fall.
Cliff technicians from the coastguard lowered a stretcher onto the rocks below after reaching the semi-conscious casualty.
The coastguard and lifeboat were able to bring the boy to a waiting ambulance, which took him to hospital for treatment.
Police are urging children to refrain from cliff jumping or encroaching the edge, having been needed at the scene to keep other youths away from the cliff edge during the rescue operation.
