Campers urged to be careful with appliances

The Island's fire service is urging all campers to be vigilant to the risk of fire after being called to an incident near the Creg-ny-Baa.

Crews from Laxey attended the scene last night after an LPG powered camping fridge set fire to an awning.

Firefighters extinguished the flames and cooled the LPG cylinders.

The Fire and Rescue Service is appealing for campers to be careful with any appliances and not to attempt to cook in their tents.
