First TT practice takes place this evening

The opening practice session for this year's Isle of Man TT gets underway later.

Roads will close this evening from 4.45pm on the Mountain Road and 6pm around the rest of the course.

Newcomers in the solo and sidecar classes will take part in a speed controlled lap before a Lightweight, Supersport and Newcomers practice gets underway at 6.45pm.

The session is due to end by 8.50pm, with roads reopening no later than 9.30pm.
