The Island's fishing authority is funding recovery ladders for the Manx fishing fleet.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is providing grants to build man overboard recovery ladders to local fishermen.
An RNLI exercise found fishermen often struggle to get back on their vessel, so the ladders are designed to help those who fall overboard get themselves out of the water.
The ladders, which are produced in Peel, can also be used by a crew to assist someone overboard.
The ladders are made specifically for each vessel and are available free of charge to all Manx fisherman from the Manx Fish Producers' Organisation.
