Fire service warns of fast-spreading fires on dry ground

The Island's fire service is reminding members of the public how quickly fire can spread following a busy weekend.

Firefighters received several callouts over the weekend, including an embankment fire in Ballasalla and a rubbish fire in Andreas.

The Fire and Rescue Service warns small fires can quickly spread at this time of year due to the ground being dry.

Officers say small fires can have a huge impact on the emergency services, particularly during TT when they are often busy with other incidents.
