Port Erin Commissioners insists a local business will be able to reapply for a lease after building works have been carried out next year.
The Cosy Nook Cafe revealed it had been asked to vacate the property, which is owned by the Commissioners, next May.
However, the local authority insists the current tenant will be welcome to reapply for the lease once significant works to the property have been completed.
The Commissioners added that they're committed to the long-term future of the Cosy Nook and wants to ensure work can commence as soon as the current tenant's lease expires.
