Public wants greater fairness in allocation of housing

Over 70% of those who completed a Government survey on public sector housing want to see greater fairness in the allocation of properties.

The Department of Infrastructure received almost 200 responses to a public consultation on proposals to the access and eligibility criteria, which was last updated in 2002.

The proposed update would allow housing providers to target applicants with the greatest housing need.

The Department will use the feedback from the public to prepare its recommendations for Tynwald.
