Coastguard tackles oil pollution in Peel harbour

Peel Coastguard was called out to deal with oil pollution in the harbour.

The team found a sheen along the harbour wall drifting down towards the bridge after arriving at the scene yesterday evening.

Crews used two absorbent booms to catch the oil, spending just over an hour on the clean-up operation.

The coastguard is urging anyone who sees this sort of pollution in coastal areas or rivers to call the coastguard.
