Police didn't receive complaints about abortion protest

The Home Affairs Minister says the police didn't receive any complaints over a pro-life protest in the south of the Island.

Bill Malarkey faced questions about the use of graphic images in public during this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

The Minister confirmed laws exist to prohibit images that disturb the public peace or outrage decency from being used in public, but that no-one reported such incidents to the police.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse revealed he'd seen locals complain about the Castletown protest on social media, but Mr Malarkey insists such problems need to be raised with the Isle of Man Constabulary rather than posted online.

However, the Minister did confirm legislation on the use of such images is under review.
