Commissioners to install football, volleyball equipment on beach

Port Erin Commissioners will be installing sports equipment on the town's beach this summer.

The local authority wants to encourage more people to use the beach, so has purchased beach football goals and a volleyball net, as well as regulation tape to mark out the pitch and court.

The equipment will be available for casual users as well as formal competitions, with clubs or organisations interested in running tournaments urged to contact the Commissioners' office to discuss their requirements.

The equipment will be in place from May until September.
