12-time TT race winner Bruce Anstey is battling an illness that is expected to prevent him racing during 2018.
The New Zealander's partner Anny Ramsey revealed in a Facebook post that Anstey has multiple tumours in his lungs and one on his spine, as well as a blood clot on the lung.
The 48-year-old, who has previously beaten testicular cancer, is currently waiting for a treatment plan.
Isle of Man TT organisers have wished Anstey the speediest recovery, while Padgetts Racing, who Anstey has ridden for for several years, also wished him well.
