Councillor Joughin to be Douglas Mayor for 2018-19

Douglas Councillor Jonathan Joughin will serve as the town's Mayor for the 2018-19 municipal year.

Members of the local authority unanimously elected the Victoria Ward Councillor at a special private meeting.

Councillor Joughin previously served as deputy mayor and is vice-chairman of the Council's Environment Services Committee and Pensions Committee.

He'll take over from Councillor Debra Pitts when the new municipal year begins next month.
