The Island's lifeboat teams are urging Manx residents to respect the water over the Easter weekend.
The RNLI warns sea temperatures are still very cold at this time of year, and that preparation is key to avoiding problems in the water.
Those planning trips to the sea are urged to check weather and tidal conditions in advance and make sure all equipment is in working order.
The charity also advises carrying a means of calling for help should something go wrong and wear the necessary safety equipment.
Anyone who spots someone in difficulty in the water should call 999 and ask for the Coastguard, and not enter the water themselves.
The Island's five lifeboat stations dealt with 42 launches in 2017, helping 46 people.
