The Diocese of Sodor and Mann has apologised unreservedly after a man was convicted of historical sex offences committed during his time as a vicar at one of the Island's churches.
82-year-old Graham Gregory has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison after being found guilty of three counts of indecent assault against separate victims between 1975 and 1990 during his time as vicar at St Ninian's in Douglas.
The Diocese described the abuse as a terrible crime and a grievous breach of trust, and paid tribute to the victims' bravery in coming forward.
The authority in charge of the Island's churches insists it's committed to making church a safer place for all.
