Just over 4% of those who are treated for cardiac arrest on the Isle of Man in the last two years survived.
Figures released by the Department of Health and Social Care show ambulances were called to 201 cases of cardiac arrest between April 1st 2015 and the end of March last year.
87 patients were found to be beyond resuscitation, while active resuscitation was attempted on 114, resulting in 65 being taken to hospital.
Of those 65, 34 had the return of spontaneous circulation and nine survived to be discharged from the hospital.
A report by the British Heart Foundation last year found UK survival rates to be around 8%.
