Those who take part in water sports around the Island's coast are being urged to let someone know their itinerary before taking to the sea.
Ramsey's Coastguard and RNLI team were called out yesterday evening after a windsurfer was spotted in possible danger by a member of the public.
However, the windsurfer was waiting for the wind to change before returning to the water, allowing the teams to stand down around 40 minutes after the callout.
The coastguard says it's always good practice to inform someone what time you're leaving and when you plan to return before taking part in water sports, as well as letting the Marine Operations Centre know on 661664.
