A former chief executive of three NHS Foundation Trusts will lead a review of the Island's healthcare system.
Distinguished clinician Sir Jonathan Michael, who was knighted for services to the NHS in 2005, has been appointed to look at options to ensure the Isle of Man has a modern, fit for purpose health and social care system.
The independent review will look at a range of issues includes scope of services, quality, funding, staffing and technology.
A report, which will highlight ways to address the current and long-term challenges facing the health service, will go before Tynwald next January.
Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan called for the review after the Department of Health and Social Care sought additional funds for a third straight year.
